Visual artist Fiona Tan (born 1966) has gain international acclaim for her audiovisual installations, which explore memory, time, history and the role of visual images. 

Tan raises fundamental questions about the use of film and photography in storytelling and memory-making. She challenges the complexities between lineage, art, science, and the use of 'new media' in the 21st century. Her work has been exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, and the Bonniers Konsthall in Stockholm. She won the Amsterdamprijs voor de Kunst in 2017 and received the Spectrum International Prize for Photography in 2019.
