Last year, she made her feature film directorial debut with Instinct, for which she also shared credit as a screenwriter and producer.
Her style of acting has been called ‘documentary-like’, ‘personal’ and ‘raw’. Reijn's awards include the Theo d'Or, a Gouden Kalf, the Courboisparel and the Theodoor Mann-Bouwmeesterring. Her film Instinct won the Variety Piazza Grande Award, the Young Audience Award and the Cineuropa Prize at the Les Arcs Film Festival in France and was the Dutch entry for the Oscars. It was also selected for screening at many film festivals worldwide.
Together with Carice van Houten, Reijn runs Man up, a company dedicated to making films and series from the female perspective. Red Light, a TV series that will be broadcast later this year, is their second production after Instinct. Reijn is also developing her second feature film, which she will again direct, co-write and co-produce.
