Colin Benders

'Authentic, a source of inspiration and idiosyncratic,' said the 2009 Popprijs jury about the artist's unique blend of jazz and hip-hop. For his debut album The Hermit Sessions, Benders received an Edison Award. 

But Kyteman is not impressed by his own success and struck out on a new path with his studio Kytopia, a sanctuary for creative cross-fertilisation and unexpected musical connections. In 2010, he was awarded a Zilveren Harp, a prize for young artists who have already made an important contribution to Dutch music and have a promising future ahead of them. Benders constantly probes new boundaries and has inspired a large and diverse group of people, including many talented young artists, to join him.
