Lotte de Beer

Director Lotte de Beer (born 1981) is one of the most sought-after opera directors of her generation. She is an innovator of the opera genre and attracts diverse audiences with her productions. 

De Beer is an inspiring example for young people who aspire to enter the opera and musical theatre profession. De Beer studied directing at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. She has received the Ton Lutz Award for most talented director and won the International Opera Award in the Newcomer category in 2015.   

Productions by De Beer include: Il Trittico at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Aida at the Opera National de Paris, Nozze di Figaro at Festival Aix en Provence, and several productions for the National Opera in Amsterdam. In September 2022, she became the director of the Wiener Volksoper in Vienna.
