Encouraging projects and research in art and science
The Mingler Scholarship has been awarded annually in recent years to a scientist and an artist who are collaborating with each other. The Young Academy and the Society of Arts intend the scholarship to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration by encouraging artists and scientists to work together on plans that stretch beyond one person’s knowledge and imagination – while respecting individual qualities and quirks.
The Scholarship makes an initial financial incentive available to new art-science partnerships (both within and outside the Mingler network). It encourages interaction and synergies in scientific and artistic research.
The Scholarship is intended for artists and scientists who wish to launch a research project together. Only projects in which artists and scientists collaborate are eligible.
The Scholarship consists of the monetary sum of € 10,000 (ten thousand euros) per pair, made available by the Niemeijer Fund.
